| Bill was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He moved to Allen, Texas in 1984 where he currently lives with his wife and two cats. According to Bill, the cats receives better care, feeding, and attention than he himself does. Bill has been a passionate photographer for the last 15 years. He enjoys and works hard to present the viewer with an image that provokes a thought and/or a feeling with a two dimensional quality. This combination results in an image that holds the viewers attention, invites one's imagination and provides a sense of place. His photography has evolved from a variety of different sources over the years. He has attended classes at SMU, taken a number of workshops and has read numerous books. His favorite author, teacher and photographer is, by far, Freeman Patterson. Ultimately, however, Bill will tell you that he arrived at his individual style and technique by hands on work in the field. Only after years of shooting, self critique and, especially, inviting critique from artists in all mediums was he able to develop his own technique and present the viewer with an image that will be appreciated, valued and enjoyed. |
