Ever the optimist, Adyna’s art explores flow, the interconnectedness of humans and creatures, and the healing power of spending time in nature. Afterall, we are all made of stardust.
Adyna works in mixed media often applying acrylics, pen, and ink in the same piece. Her favorite projects involve ink on glass. “Watching a piece come to life organically connects me deeply to the process. Working with the ink is like a delicate dance. I might lead the ink where I want it to go. Then I must let it flow and show me what it wants to do and where it wants to go. Letting go of any attachment to a specific outcome frees me to allow and observe the evolution. It’s like a conversation.”
When she’s not in the flow of the ink, Adyna is studying and painting flowers, trees, and birds. “Nature is always in this cycle of evolution and creation. Flowers, trees, and birds bring a simple flow of life that I find so restorative. I know I’m a geek, but I find trying to capture it on canvas endlessly fascinating.”
